Mr. Chappell joined IAN+A. in 1982 and was chosen to evaluate the firm's first PC and Computer Aided Design software in 1983. Since then he has merged all LANs, connected all workstations to the network, upgraded all software and enhanced the network to provide users with external e-mail and web services. In 1998 he helped the firm acquire a presence on the world-wide-web and create its own Intranet. More recently, a second LAN linked to the home office has been set up in another city, forming the firm's first wide area network.
